The climax in this song is something else. All this slow build-up going into it is mesmerizing. I love that little square riff you have all the way through! Really links the whole arrangement together.

OVERSCORE responds:

The arrangement for this one is admittedly pretty simple— intro, buildup, DROP, outro— but that allows me so much more freedom to shape that buildup, and adds so much thematically to the drop. I was definitely going for a mesmerizing feel, thank you!

This track is beyond beautiful. You can't help but resonate with the feeling of hoping in pain. This track touched me deeply beyond any lyrics would!

OVERSCORE responds:

Wow, it’s moving to me that these feelings resonated with you so powerfully… thank you!

Hooooly! This is just such an ethereal experience, beginning to end. At this point, I won't even try to begin describing my appreciation for your composition; you're just him. Lol.

I can tell you put a lot of work into cleaning this up and polishing it to its fullest potential. It's hard to make music sound so crisp and clear with so many sounds alloyed together, so this is honestly impressive.

Keep it up g! <3

P.s., that outro has to be frontpage-worthy on its own, because it just hits like nothing else. Amazing stuff, and congrats on the frontpage!

OVERSCORE responds:

Thanks Espyo!! Your continued compliments to my composing ability are endlessly encouraging. I have put in a lot of work polishing this because, I just want this to be the best work it can be!

The outro is thematically the most important part, so I really had to nail it. Thanks again, all these frontpages have been such a welcome surprise!

Wow, the mix on this is crisp as hell and I love it! However oxymoronic this sounds, everything mends together with so much clarity! The glitches, the drums, the arpeggios, you killed it with this revised version man, honestly!

Can't wait for tomorrow!

OVERSCORE responds:

Well you helped with that aspect a ton, pat yourself on the back a bit lol.
That oxymoronic idea is present throughout a lot of this album, as I did not level this at all- the high-shelf actually brought up the elements that were supposed to be the focus. Thanks for stopping by Espyo!

I think that this song is a solid start for someone who has just began picking up music software! The main things I'd work on is making your song sound a bit less repetitive, and experimenting with layering sounds on top of each other. Nothing that some extra time on the track cannot fix!

Overall, great start!

BlazeBlasterJ88 responds:

Thank you for listening to my song and for your comments! I'm pleased that you think it's a good start. I will work on making my tracks less repetitive and experimenting with layering to improve my future productions.

I appreciate your support and suggestions. I hope to share something even better soon!

Great track man! I would say my only complaint about this is the fact that the mix lacks the lower-mid frequencies, so the body of the track is not as full as it could. But honestly, the melodic decisions throughout the track were well done. And those glitch effects at the end, oooooh!

Congrats on the frontpage! ;D

G2961 responds:

thank you very much! Yes, I totally agree with you, this song doesn't have any normal treatments, but here at least I tried to make some good melodic part. and yes, I was surprised when this song hit the homepage, to be honest, I didn't expect it, but I'm very grateful for it!
Actually, I did this song when I really wanted to sleep, lol, so I wasn't fully able to work on this song, hahahaha

Hoooolllyy! Your drum work was crazy all throughout this one! I love your meticulous ambient work here too; everything just fits together so naturally. Certainly a fun listen!

I guess my only complaint is that the song gets a little repetitive until the 3rd minute where everything changes with that chorus piano melody and all the sick ambience. Still a fantastic piece of music honestly!

OVERSCORE responds:

Thank you, I’ve really improved at splicing up breaks recently. Glad you like my ambient instrumentation!
That repetitive nature is part of the reason this one didn’t fit the album, and that the whole thing was just kinda mediocre imo. Thanks for listening and leaving a review!

Damn, this has some crazy groove going for it! The drumbeat is extremely swingy (that's also probably why cf24 said it was offbeat), but I love that about this little ID of yours.

Quick tip: if it takes you too long to put in a melody you thought in your head while you're using this trick, you could probably have a separate app where you put all your melodies to then transcribe into SunVox. I sometimes do that too even though FL has a fully functional piano roll haha

OVERSCORE responds:

I love that swing effect… idk why cf thinks it is offbeat, I guess he hasn’t heard this style before?? I would do that but I find SunVox easier… the only alternative is recording something and then exporting to MIDI, but I don’t have anything to record it on.

This was a very uplifting experience. Truly some great work I listened to right here!

trevor8 responds:

thank you so much!
